This is a Pipeline requisition opened in preparation for 3 levels of experienced AI Engineers. Positions to become available in the coming weeks. MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACTAs an AI Engineer, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of USPS.
You will play a crucial role in optimizing the business functions at USPS.
The integration of AI technologies is essential to streamline these processes and provide data-driven insights.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and advancing AI capabilities that support the USPS mission, with a focus on identifying opportunities to integrate AI across business processes and implementing solutions based on those findings.
This includes automating
requirements
and test case preparation using tools such as Visual Studio Code, Python, Copilot AI, and other Postal Service–approved technologies.
The candidate must bring strong technical expertise, a collaborative approach, and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure AI solutions are practical, mission‑aligned, and successfully adopted. The AI Engineer must have:Education:Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited College/University is preferred. Alternative Path: If the candidate does not possess a relevant four-year degree, an additional four years of relevant work experience will be required. Required Experience:Looking for 3 different levels of experience:0-2 years of specialized AI development experience in technology or software development using Visual Studio, Crew AI, Co-Pilot, etc. 3-7 years of specialized AI development experience in technology or software development using Visual Studio, Crew AI, Co-Pilot, etc. 8+ years of specialized AI development experience in technology or software development using Visual Studio, Crew AI, Co-Pilot, etc. Proven experience leading or contributing to AI/Automation projects in a professional capacity. Hands-on experience in Analytics Support and/or a leadership role is highly desirable. Required Technical Skills:Demonstrated expertise in developing solutions using Visual Studio Code, Python, and other programming languages to harness generative AI and large language models (LLMs). Strong knowledge of AI-related technologies, frameworks, and their integration into enterprise systems. Develop AI tool/program to create technical

by leveraging current and past business user stories.
Integrate the existing test automation framework with AI solutions. Ensure all AI scripts and programs are fully executable on postal laptops. Train designated team members to execute and maintain AI scripts and programs. Preferred Skills:Strong analytical thinking skills and ability to develop creative solutions to complex technical challenges. Effective communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team environment with cross-functional stakeholders. Track record of delivering successful AI-enhanced projects for enterprise systems. Security Clearance Level:Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance and successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process requiring the completion of detailed forms and fingerprintingThis position has a U. S. residency requirement.
The USPS security clearance process requires the selected candidate to have resided in the U. S. (including U. S. Territories) for the last five years as follows: U. S. Citizens cannot have left the U. S. (including U. S. Territories) for longer than 6 months consecutively in the last 3 years (unless they meet certain exceptions). Non-U. S. Citizens cannot have left the U. S. (including U. S. Territories) for longer than 90 days consecutively in the last 3 years.
